This is a reminder that the AGMA Staging Staff Caucus will host a special presentation on fight direction and intimacy direction on Monday, February 21, at 9:00 p.m. ET. Joining the event are guest speakers Doug Scholz-Carlson, artistic director, fight choreographer, actor, and certified intimacy director, and Michelle Ladd, action director, fight choreographer, and performer of stunts, staged combat, dance, and acting. From The Actors Fund: Career Transition For Dancers supports the education of dancers transitioning to new careers. Named for former dancer, dance advocate, and President of Career Transition For Dancers Alex Dubé, the Alex Dubé Scholarship Program supports the education of dancers to build their next professional platforms. Through the Alex Dubé Scholarship Program, eligible dancers enrolled in accredited degree programs can receive up to $10,000 to assist with tuition payment as they take the next step forward in their careers. NY Artists in Need: Creatives Rebuild New York is Now Accepting Applications

As reported in the New York times and various other outlets, Creatives Rebuild New York has launched a $125 million program that offers guaranteed income to 2,400 artists across New York State who can demonstrate financial need. There are two options. One option would provide $1,000 a month for 18 months, no strings attached. The second option is for a $65,000-a-year job with a community-based organization or municipality. AGMA Ratifies Three-Year Agreement with Portland Opera

AGMA is pleased to report that Portland Opera’s new collective bargaining agreement was ratified by AGMA leadership, after being overwhelmingly approved by the shop. There have been multiple additions and improvements to the contract language, particularly when it comes to compensation, Digital Media, Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Access, and Harassment Prevention. Thank you to the negotiating committee on this 3-year agreement.
