Los Angeles Opera Dance Audition for La Traviata, an Opera by Giuseppe Verdi

Marta Domingo, Director; Kitty McNamee, Choreographer

Rehearsals begin May 6, 2019. Onstage rehearsals: May 23, 24, 25, and 28, 2019.

Performances: May 30 (Final Dress), June 1, 9, 13, 16, 19, and 22, 2019.

CASTING: 6 Female Corps Dancers & 1 Female Swing Dancer

All dancers must have strong contemporary and ballet technique.

Must also be proficient in partnering. Strong dramatic ability is desired. 

Dancers may also be required to perform as supernumeraries.

Female dancers must be between 5'6" and 5'10" in height.
Female dancers wear minimal costumes (fringed halter top and shorts with bare midriff).

 

CONTRACT:
6 Female Dancers: AGMA Per-Performance Corp Dancer Contract ($46/hr rehs, $300/perf)
Swing Dancer: AGMA Off-Stage Swing Dancer Contract ($46/hr rehs, ½ perf fee/perf to cover)
(Parking is provided. All local contracts - housing and per diem are not provided.)

AUDITION (BY APPOINTMENT ONLY):
Date:  FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 22nd
Time:  12:00 p.m. - Check in begins
1:00 p.m. - Audition
3:30 p.m. - Callbacks

(ARRIVE AT LEAST 30 MINUTES EARLY TO FILL OUT PAPERWORK AND WARM UP)
Location: Dorothy Chandler Pavilion (Downtown Los Angeles). Parking is provided.
Bring: Photo/Resume and ballet shoes or paws. Layers to warm up in are recommended.
Wear: Form fitting dance attire.

Dancers must be 18 or older and legally eligible to work in the United States. Any dancer who is not already a member of the American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA) will be required to join if accepting an offer of employment.
