Rehearsals begin on or about April 13, 2020 – Artists must have full weekday daytime availability.
Technical rehearsals begin the week of April 27, 2020
Performance dates are May 9, 10 (matinee), 11, 13, 15, 17 (matinee), 18, 20, 22, 23, 2020
Music and staging rehearsals will take place at the Washington National Opera Studio.
Technical rehearsals and performances will take place at the Kennedy Center Opera House.
Seeking African-American singers to portray various roles and ensemble. Classical singers with an opera or musical theatre background or experience preferred.
Singers should come prepared with a classical musical theatre song and a 32 bar excerpt of the same song, showing off range and quality. WNO reserves the right to hear only specific portions of any selection offered. Bring sheet music in the correct key; an accompanist will be provided. No a cappella auditions. Bring headshot and resume stapled together.
