Published June 8, 2021   |  By Musical Artists  |  Post in All Areas

6/8/2021 – The AGMA Board of Governors has ratified a new collective bargaining agreement with the Metropolitan Opera. “Considering what the Met was originally publicly seeking in concessions, which was around 30%, this comprehensive agreement is the best resolution for all our members,” said Len Egert, National Executive Director of AGMA, and the co-lead negotiator of the Met/AGMA contract. “It was a balancing act, a give and take, but we continued to push the interests and needs of our Artists to the forefront of every conversation. We ensured that AGMA members who make their livelihood at the Met can continue to do so and that the Met as an institution can continue to attract and retain the best Artists in the world.” Th... Important Change to the Met AGMA Tentative Agreement

Published   |  By Musical Artists  |  Post in All Areas

We are writing with an update on the Met/AGMA Tentative Agreement (TA). The Met AGMA Negotiating Committee heard the concerns of the AGMA soloist community, particularly concerning reductions going beyond the term of the agreement. After hearing soloists’ feedback, the Committee returned to the Met and expressed its continued opposition to this part of the Tentative Agreement. The Met AGMA Negotiating Committee was able to modify the Tentative Agreement in order to prevent reductions in compensation for per performance soloists beyond July 31, 2025. Further, any contracts after that date will not be subject to any contractual reductions. No other changes were made to the TA beyond this major gain, which ensures that soloists’ reduc... 5/24/2021 -- Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the goal of the American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA) and the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC) has been to get our members back to work as soon, safely, and responsibly as possible.
