We’re proud to announce that AGMA’s very first collective bargaining agreement with Little Island was officially ratified by AGMA leadership on April 28, 2025.
With more than 110 performances across music, theater, dance, opera, and more, Little Island is one of New York’s most vibrant outdoor stages.
CONTRACT HIGHLIGHTS:
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- Covered work includes development, rehearsal, tech, performance
- Wage/per diem payments begin on arrival for all Artists
- CBA covers 3 seasons with 2.75% and 3% wage increases in years 2 and 3
- Holiday pay if working 4 designated holidays during summer season
- 7.5% contribution to AGMA Retirement Fund
- Cleaning fees for personal wardrobe use
HARASSMENT, DISCRIMINATION, I.D.E.A.:
- No discrimination or harassment based on race, color, creed, sex, age, disability, national origin, nationality, gender identity, gender expression, reproductive health decision-making, pregnancy-related conditions, or sexual orientation
- Policies issued and regularly updated, notice of reverse Weingarten
- Contractors, vendors, and anyone who works with Artists advised that any violation may lead to termination or future non-reengagement
- Recruitment, retention, mentorship, and accessibility for traditionally or historically marginalized Artists
- Gender neutrality, including changes to employment record
REHEARSAL, PERFORMANCE, WORK RULES:
- Schedule 12 hours in advance
- Limit of two 10-hour tech days (performers and production staff)
- 12-hour rest span
- Overtime after 52 hours for performers and production staff
SAFETY AND HEALTH:
- Detailed Outdoor Work protocols; specific safety provisions such as cooling towels, ice packs, sports drinks, costume adjustments, extended rest, limits on strenuous physical activity.
- Compliance with all safety and health standards based on evidence-based science
- Dressing rooms inclusive of all gender identities
- Advance notice of intimacy expectations; intimacy director upon request
- Certified combat instructor for productions with fight scenes involving weapons
- Accommodation/opt-out if non-water-based smoke/fog effects
MEDIA, PUBLICITY, PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL:
- Negotiated compensation for any commercial use of filming
- 24-hour notice prior to filming
- 5 days’ notice of streaming
- Photos and clips provided to the Artist for personal and promotional use.
- Only archival library recordings in perpetuity
- AGMA logo and program credit
