HOUSTON GRAND OPERA
ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR
FAUST

Corps Dancers
Saturday, April 18, 2026
11am-1pm (men), 2-5pm (women)
at the Wortham Theater Center
in downtown Houston

Houston Grand Opera is seeking 11 female-identifying dancers and 4 male-identifying dancers for its production of Charles Gounod’s Faust. Revival choreographer Amit Noy is looking for dancers with a strong technique who can move with clarity, dynamics, and theatricality. A strong sense of musicality and an affinity for theatre and theatrical gestures is important. Experience with classical technique is encouraged for the women, and acrobatic skills for the men.

Note that particularly for the women, the choreography hints at themes of lewdness and debauchery within the framework of comedy and physical theatre. Dancers should be comfortable exploring this territory within a safe and constructive working environment.

There will be a warm-up room available before the audition; there will not be a group warmup or class given. Dancers should wear form-fitting dance attire and character shoes (women) or jazz shoes/jazz sneakers (men).

Auditions will take place on Saturday, April 18 at the Wortham Theater Center in downtown Houston.
