The AGMA Pride Caucus will meet on Friday, March 13, at 7:30 p.m. ET. The Caucus will be joined by special guest Brittany Anderson, Executive Director of Pride at Work.
Brittany is an incredible labor organizer and leader. Her presentation will outline how arts workers fit into the broader labor movement, introduce the common issues faced by LGBTQIA+ workers, and discuss how LGBTQIA+ rights are workers’ rights, and how fighting for them results in better workplaces for everyone.
All AGMA members are invited to attend the Zoom session. Register here!
This conversation will be of particular interest to members who are currently in negotiations or preparing to enter negotiations with their signatories.
The discussion will cover:
- The unique challenges facing the opera and ballet industries in building inclusive workplaces
- Contract language that supports equity and inclusion
- Strategies for strengthening protections for trans and non-binary members
- Resources and best practices
Brittany’s bio can be found here.
About the AGMA Pride Caucus:
AGMA’s newest caucus is a member-led space created by and for 2SLGBTQIA+ and allied members of the Union. The AGMA Pride Caucus brings queer and allied members together in solidarity across geographical, cultural, and professional boundaries. We advocate for 2SLGBTQIA+ rights within AGMA signatories and the broader performing arts industry, with a special emphasis on urgently supporting and centering the needs of trans and non-binary members. The Caucus is committed to recognizing and addressing the distinct challenges our members face across work groups and regions nationwide.
