AGMA Ratifies 3-Year Agreement with Ballet West

AGMA Artists at Ballet West have ratified a new agreement that delivers meaningful wage increases, stronger workplace protections, and long-overdue improvements to reimbursement policies and scheduling clarity. With raises as high as 18.75% in the first year, new guarantees around Free Days, and expanded support for physical maintenance and performance-related expenses, this contract reflects the value, voice, and well-being of the Artists

CONTRACT HIGHLIGHTS:

Wage Increases:

  • Year 1: 4% – 18.75%​
  • Year 2: 5% – 5.5%​
  • Year 3: 4.5%​

Additional Rate Increases:​

  • Extraordinary Risk: 8%​
  • Master Class: 8%​
  • Singing/Speaking Roles: 11%​
  • Choreographer Contracts: 10%​
  • Parking Reimbursements: 10%​
  • Per Diem Increases: $60/$60/$65 and $92 in high cost touring locales

Reimbursements:

  • NEW Performance make-up reimbursement up to $50/season​
  • Increase in shoe hardening reimbursement
  • Physical Maintenance Allowance reimbursement increase

Other Highlights:

  • Increased notice timeline for changes to layoff weeks, Free Days, or work weeks
  • Improved Free Day language for Performance Weeks, removing best efforts language and solidifying that Artists cannot work more than 7 consecutive days without a Free Day or additional compensation
  • Guarantee that the Anti-Discrimination/Harassment Training is live rather than done online with a pre-recorded video
  • Improved timeline for Shoe Distribution​
  • BW II Artists can now receive additional pairs of shoes when working with the company
