AGMA Ratifies 4-Year Agreement with Wolf Trap Opera

The new collective bargaining agreement between AGMA and Wolf Trap Opera was approved by AGMA leadership, after being overwhelmingly ratified by the shop. Thank you to the negotiating committee and congratulations on this 4-year agreement!

CONTRACT HIGHLIGHTS

COMPENSATION AND OTHER IMPROVEMENTS:

  • Wage increases of 4%, 3%, 3%, and 2.5% over 4 years.
  • Production Staff improvements, including reduction from 60 to 54 hours per week before overtime (except for tech week), and re-engagement communications.
  • Chorister improvements, including full compensation for canceled rehearsal hours appearing on the 30-day schedule, approximately 25% increase in G1 chorister (Artists on AGMA contracts for the first time) rehearsal rate for Year 1.
  • New Individual Artist Agreement and dues deduction language including new forms.
  • New AGMA rights language, including receipt of roster at least 6 weeks prior to first scheduled rehearsal.
  • New Labor-Management Committee language.

DIVERSITY, EQUITY, INCLUSION AND SAFETY:

  • Gender-neutral pronouns will be used.
  • New Discrimination and Harassment language, new Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) language, including the right of Artists to be represented by their AGMA representative during the complaint and investigation process (reverse Weingarten).
  • New health and safety language, including engagement of fight and intimacy directors.
  • Removed offensive language regarding weight in Change of Appearance section.
  • Extended break for nursing parents.
