The American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA) stands in solidarity with the San Francisco Opera Orchestra as they strike for a fair contract.
AGMA members at San Francisco Opera are directly affected by this strike. We will not cross our colleagues’ picket line. When our fellow artists are on strike, we stand with them! So, for right now, the show will not go on.
Now seems like a good time to remind everyone that striking is always a last resort. We support the players and the impacted AGMA members who have dedicated their talent, time, and careers to making opera possible in San Francisco. We urge San Francisco Opera management to reach a fair deal with the orchestra ASAP so everyone can return to work. There’s no opera without us.
