The new collective bargaining agreement between AGMA and the San Francisco Symphony was approved by AGMA leadership on December 16, 2024, after being ratified by the shop.

Economics and Other Benefits
- The AGMA Negotiation Committee, with strong support from the Symphony Chorus and public, successfully preserved chorus jobs and income through the 2025-26 season, maintaining current compensation levels.
- Included rehearsals in the Minimum Base Compensation will decrease from 53 to 51 in the second year, meaning rehearsals beyond 51 would require additional compensation.
- Parking reimbursement will increase from $20 to $22 per call.
- NEW Sick Leave for Substitute Professional Choristers: 1 service per program.
- NEW Ability for Substitute Professional Choristers to enroll in and contribute funds toward the TSATSP Plan (retirement).
- Guaranteed response to Leave Requests within 10 business days of receipt of request.
- Guaranteed space other than a restroom for Choristers to use for lactation/nursing.
- Symphony will provide Choristers who are nursing an extended break at the Chorister’s request.
More Wins
- Historic establishment of a Chorus Endowment following multi-million-dollar donation by anonymous Chorus supporter.
- NEW Language expanding who can attend Chorus Advisory Council meetings to discuss topics such as fundraising for the Chorus, expanding the Chorus Endowment, engagement opportunities for Choristers within the organization, and general advocacy for the Chorus in the community.
- If the Symphony is unable to include a Choral Feature Concert in a season, a written explanation will be sent to all AGMA Professional Choristers and AGMA Staff.
- Symphony will assist with scheduling and provide a space for a one-hour AGMA membership meeting prior to the first rehearsal of each program.
