The Metropolitan Opera is auditioning dancers who currently or have previously danced at the Met for the 2026-27 new production of Lincoln in the Bardo, directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz with choreography by Raja Feather Kelly. We are seeking 7 performing and 3 cover artists deeply invested in process and unafraid of rigor. The work will center highly specific, nuanced gestures, grounded floor work, and some partnering, with an emphasis on repetition, refinement, and detail. Artists should be comfortable working with both extreme precision and theatrical distortion. This will not be suited for artists seeking fixed combinations, purely linear movement phrasing, or a primarily “showing” based rehearsal process but an ensemble-based environment that values sustained attention, curiosity, and physical intelligence. Artists
in this production may also be required to manipulate puppets in select scenes.

To fulfill this engagement, dancers will need to be available for rehearsals currently beginning September 8 through October 18, 2026, and as needed; and for nine (9) performances currently scheduled for: October 19, 24 matinee, 26, 29, 31; November 3, 7 matinee, 1, 14, 2026.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 27, 2026

Please note, these calls are ONLY open to dancers who have danced previously at the Met Opera.
12:30 – 1:30 PM* 1:45 – 2:45 PM*

*Dancers will be notified at the end of their time slot if they are invited to the May 28th callback.
