Musica Sacra will hold auditions for professional choral singers on Tuesday, October
20, 2026 from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm. These auditions are held in the Choir Room at the Cathedral of St John the Divine at 1047 Amsterdam Avenue, New York, NY 10025.
Singers will be asked to sing two contrasting arias from the oratorio repertoire. These should be kept to a maximum of three minutes in length per aria with a total of six
minutes per singer. One aria should be lyric and sustained, the other allegro, if possible
with coloratura. These arias should be in two different languages (for example English
and German) and from two different musical periods (for example baroque and
contemporary). Singers will also be required to sightread.
