4 Female Corps Dancers on Pointe and 4 Male Corps Dancers needed
1 Female Soloist and 1 Male Soloist needed
We are seeking dynamic, versatile dancers for an upcoming production of Nixon in China. This opera blends movement and theatrical storytelling, requiring performers with strong technical ability, musicality, and expressive range.
Requirements:
- Strong background in ballet, modern, and contemporary dance
- Female-presenting dancers proficient on pointe
- Dynamic performers with articulate musicality and the ability to move precisely in unison
- Comfort working with props and fabric as part of the choreography
- Strong stage presence
- Ability to learn and retain complex choreography quickly
Rehearsals begin on or about October 22, 2026.
Technical rehearsals begin on or about November 8, 2026.
Performance dates are: November 14, 19, 21 (mat), 2026.
Rehearsals will take place at the Washington National Opera Studio in Takoma.

Dancers should report to the Washington National Opera Studio, 6925 Willow St. NW, Washington, DC 20012.
To reach the Washington National Opera Studio, go to the 3rd floor of the building; directions will be posted.
Dancers must arrive by the appropriate Registration time listed above, i.e. at least one hour prior to the scheduled Audition time, in order to complete the application process.*
