A new member of AGMA, Southern California Soloist Sacha Boutros Cázares shares the following as part of AGMA’s Hispanic Heritage Month series:
“I am an international jazz and opera artist of Mexican and French Lebanese heritage. I carry with me the sounds, stories, and traditions that have shaped my identity and artistic path. Growing up on both sides of the border, I was surrounded by the richness of my Mexican culture—its rhythms, flavors, and spirit of community. These roots instilled in me that music is more than entertainment; it is a bridge for peace, unity, service, and cultural understanding.
My career has taken me across the globe, performing in multiple languages and collaborating with musicians from diverse traditions. Yet no matter where I am, I carry my heritage with me. It is both a gift and a responsibility to use my voice not only to honor those who came before me but also to create opportunities for dialogue, healing, and togetherness through music.
As a cultural ambassador and organizer of peace and unity concerts, it was important to me that my union align with my values of inclusivity, diversity, and artistic excellence. AGMA’s commitment to supporting artists and fostering equitable opportunities in the performing arts resonates deeply with my mission as an artist and of my 501(c)(3) Sacha’s Supper Club, using music as a bridge for cultural understanding and global harmony.
Joining AGMA has been a powerful step for me. This Hispanic Heritage Month, I am proud to stand alongside fellow artists — Hispanic, Latino/a, Latine, Latinx, Afro-Latino/a — who continue to inspire the world with their creativity and resilience. Bravi!
Our stories matter, our traditions matter, and our voices matter. Music has no borders, and neither does love. Both flow freely across cultures, languages, and generations, reminding us of our shared humanity. May this Hispanic Heritage Month inspire us all to celebrate our roots, embrace our diversity, and use the universal language of music to build peace, unity, and a more harmonious world.” – Sacha Boutros Cázares
