AGMA Ratifies Three Year Agreement with Kansas City Ballet: Contract Highlights

The new collective bargaining agreement between AGMA and Kansas City Ballet was approved by AGMA leadership on May 19, 2025, after being ratified by the shop.

The new contract includes meaningful wage increases, the elimination of the Apprentice rank, and expanded protections around scheduling and well-being. It also features improvements to delegate pay, inclusive language updates, and the addition of Juneteenth as a holiday.

CONTRACT HIGHLIGHTS:

Compensation and Other Highlights:

  • Wages:
    • Year 1: increases between 3% and 8%
    • Years 2 and 3: 3% increases
  • Elimination of Apprentice ranks beginning in Year 2 of the Agreement​
  • 20% increase in Delegate Pay​
  • New pronoun and gender-neutral facilities language​
  • Addition of Juneteenth to Holidays​
  • Two additional hours of PT a week​
  • Well-Being reimbursements are now extended to use with mental health professionals​
  • Protections against performing in more than nine performances in a row​
  • New language guaranteeing an alternative Free Day if the Nutcracker falls on a Monday​
