AGMA Ratifies Three Year Agreement with Lyric Opera of Kansas City: Contract Highlights

The new collective bargaining agreement between AGMA and Lyric Opera of Kansas City was approved by AGMA leadership on May 19, 2025, after being ratified by the shop.

The agreement includes annual wage increases, new sick leave and parking provisions, improved scheduling guarantees, and expanded holiday coverage for all artists. Congratulations to the negotiating committee on securing these important gains!

CONTRACT HIGHLIGHTS:

Compensation and Other Highlights:

  • All CBA rates will increase by 3% annually for three years
  • New! Parking language for Production Staff​
  • New! Three hours of paid sick leave for all non-weekly artists​
  • Expanded Holiday Language to apply to all Artists (previously was just Choristers)​
  • Overtime for Production Staff now begins after 52 hours per week
  • Guarantee of a schedule sent to Production Staff at least 30 days prior to their first day​
  • Clarified Chorister language, ensuring they can request excused absences up to 30 days before the Opening Performance​
