Call for AGMAzine Submissions: Submit by September 26!

August 26, 2025

The Membership and Member Relations Committee is excited to announce the upcoming digital winter issue of AGMAzine! The theme of this issue is AGMA Coast to Coast: A National Push for Change. This theme is a celebration of how AGMA Artists across the country are organizing, bargaining for strong contracts, advocating, and standing together.

All AGMA members are invited to contribute—whether you’re involved in union activism or simply want to share a meaningful experience. Your voice matters, and every story adds to the bigger picture of who we are as a union. Contributions from individuals or groups are welcome.

Possible submission ideas (text, artwork, or photography welcome):

  • Bargaining in Action: Moments from recent or ongoing contract negotiations! Behind-the-scenes experiences, internal organizing and actions, wins, or lessons learned.
  • Union Presence in the Community: Public actions, rallies, or events where AGMA Artists stood together to make an impact. Did you attend a rally for a cause important to you on your own? We want to hear about that too!
  • Transformative Performances: How your artistry has been shaped by your union work, or how your performances have become acts of advocacy.
  • Solidarity Across the Map: Stories of traveling to support other AGMA members, joining coalitions or caucuses (like our new Pride Caucus), or standing with workers in other industries. Did you support the postal workers or other groups fighting for what they deserve? Tell us about it!
  • The Personal: Reflections on how union activism (big or small) has changed your perspective, your career, or your community.

You don’t have to be on the frontlines of bargaining or leading a rally to contribute. Perhaps you attended your first union meeting, shared a post about a colleague’s win, or felt pride watching fellow members stand up for change. These moments all matter, and they tell the story of AGMA’s collective strength.

Deadline for submissions: Friday, September 26, 8:00 p.m. PT

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES: Please send your submissions to communications@musicalartists.org with the subject line “AGMAzine Submission.” Submit a Word document (up to 1,100 words) or JPEG (if you are submitting artwork). Try not to send PDFs unless absolutely necessary. Please also send 1-5 photos you would like to include. At the very least, a headshot is required!

We can’t wait to see your stories, art, and reflections come together in this issue of AGMAzine!
