July 6, 2026

In honor of Disability Pride Month, AGMA welcomes submissions of essays, poetry, and visual artwork that explore disability, identity, artistry, access, resilience, joy, or any aspect of lived experiences members wish to share. Selected submissions will be featured on AGMA’s website, newsletter, and social platforms throughout July.

PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES:

Response Deadline: Monday, July 20, 2026, 5:00 p.m. ET

AGMA Members in good standing can participate by filling out this form and submitting a written reflection/story (150-800 words suggested); poetry and artwork are also accepted

Some submission ideas:

  • Share a project, performance, or artwork that reflects your lived experience.
  • A cherished routine or action that shaped who you are.
  • Reflections on disability identity: How does disability shape your personal or professional life?
  • Stories about accessibility in professional or artistic spaces: what has supported you, or what barriers have you encountered?
  • Experiences with accessibility, equity, or representation: what has been difficult, and what has helped, changed, or been learned along the way.
  • Moments when representation (or the lack of it) impacted your work or sense of belonging.
  • How do language, culture, or family traditions shape or complicate your experience of disability?
