Every April 28, the unions of the AFL-CIO observe Workers Memorial Day to honor those who have been injured, become ill, or lost their lives on the job and to recommit to the fight for safer workplaces for all.
As the AFL-CIO said in its statement, “Elevating workplace safety and health issues is more important than ever.”
As we face a future where support from government institutions may not always meet the needs of working people, AGMA reaffirms our commitment to solidarity. All workers deserve a safe workplace, whether they are working on a stage, a construction site, a farm, or delivering goods by bike on the street. By uniting, we will combat worker exploitation, unsafe working conditions, and illegal discrimination. Solidarity is strength, and, more often than not, solidarity is what keeps us safe.
