The Staging Staff Caucus will welcome Lori Rubinstein, the Executive Director of the Behind the Scenes Foundation, for a mental-health-focused presentation on Monday, March 11, at 9:00 p.m. ET.

All AGMA Staging Staff members are encouraged to join and can register here.

The Behind the Scenes Mental Health Initiative provides tools and resources to support entertainment industry workers and promote mental health and wellness. The session will provide an overview of these tools and resources for mental and emotional well-being that are available to individuals seeking help for themselves, for their family members, and for those seeking to help others. These include the Entertainment Industry Therapist Finder, Mental Health First Aid training, anonymous online self-assessments, easy to navigate resources, information, and tools to help fight bullying and harassment, sample language on mental health and respectful workplaces for crews, resources for questions on alcohol and substance use and abuse, and information on the warning signs of suicide and the steps you can take to help keep someone safe.

Lori Rubinstein is the Executive Director of the Behind the Scenes Foundation, a 501(c)3 charity which she has been with since its founding in 2005. Lori has been in the entertainment industry for over 40 years. She was the Executive Director of the Entertainment Services and Technology Association, an industry trade association, for almost 30 years until her retirement in 2018. During her tenure she oversaw the creation and development of the ANSI-accredited Technical Standards Program and the Entertainment Technician Certification Program among other initiatives. Her experience in the industry also includes working as a lighting designer and stage manager for dance, symphony, theatre and musicals, and for industry businesses including a theatrical lighting supply company, a theatre consultancy firm, and a manufacturer of entertainment products.
