In June 2023, AGMA announced the Union's new President, Officers, and Governors. The award-winning Summer 2023 issue of AGMAzine featured interviews with President Ned Hanlon and Officers J. Austin Bitner, Brian August, Helena Brown, Antuan Byers, Eric Ferring, Andres Garcia, Katharine Goeldner, Cameo Humes, and Jennifer Wallace. Now, as part of our AGMAzine Spotlight Series, we will be featuring these union leaders every Wednesday.

Today, we spotlight Cameo Humes, AGMA's Midwestern Region Vice President.

“I joined the Board over a year ago because I wanted to get more of an in-depth understanding of the inner workings of our union, so when the opportunity arose for a VP position, I gladly accepted. I saw an opportunity to further effect change by taking on a leadership position and bringing my unique experiences and expertise as a Chorister and Soloist to better serve the Union. As your Officer, I hope to increase BIPOC visibility and representation within AGMA and explore new ways to engage our membership. I have previously served on negotiating committees as well as DEI/IDEA working committees and I look forward to serving on the Work Rules and Contracts committee, where I hope to strengthen workplace protections for all Artists. I also wish to familiarize myself with the concerns and perspectives of working groups outside of my own. Most of all, I am looking forward to working with and getting to know my wonderful colleagues on this fantastic Board of Governors!”
