As we continue to live through this challenging time, it is hard to believe another new year is just around the bend. In observance of the upcoming holidays, the AGMA National Office will close at 1:00 p.m. ET on Thursday, December 23, and reopen Monday, January 3, 2022. For assistance, please contact your AGMA Staff Representative. AGMA Releases Emergency Guidance on Omicron Surge

This guidance was emailed to AGMA companies and AGMA members today. This Emergency Guidance addresses the recent, dramatic surge in COVID-19 cases in many AGMA companies resulting from the Omicron variant. These guidelines are especially important for companies currently in the midst of holiday performances, such as The Nutcracker and other holiday concerts. AGMA Ratifies 3-Year Agreement with Sacramento Ballet

AGMA is happy to report that Sacramento Ballet’s new collective bargaining agreement was ratified by AGMA leadership, after being overwhelmingly approved by the shop. There are many gains in this contract. There have been multiple additions and improvements to the contract language including EXTENSIVE sections on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; Harassment Prevention; Holidays; Compensation; Medical Coverage; Sick/Disability/Personal/Maternity Leaves; and more. AGMA Announces Results of Area Committee Elections and Referendum

The Area Committee Elections have concluded, and the results are now available! Members can review all the Area Committee rosters on AGMA's brand-new Area webpage. December 15 Deadline: Referendum and Area Committee Election

Today AGMA members in good standing received an email reminder regarding Area Committee Elections and the non-binding referendum vote. The deadline is tomorrow, December 15, by 6:00 p.m. ET. Of the nine AGMA Areas, two resulted in contested races: New York and Southern California. As a result, these two Areas received a ballot to vote on their contested seats on December 8. The remaining seven AGMA Areas had no contested races for seats. So, those who self-nominated within those seven areas have been automatically elected to the Area Committee without the need for a vote! AGMA Announces New Employees

AGMA is ecstatic to formally introduce to you the newest members of AGMA’s professional staff. “AGMA has added four business representatives and a visa consultant to its team,” said Leonard Egert, National Executive Director of AGMA. “The business reps will help the Union increase outreach and education as well as provide support to our negotiators across the country. The visa consultant is responsible for reviewing non-immigrant work visa petitions and issuing Advisory Opinion Letters for international artists coming to perform in the United States. AGMA to Launch Demographic Census in 2022

This announcement was originally published in AGMAzine on page six. AGMA is set to distribute its first demographic census in its 85-year history in early 2022. In January 2021, members of AGMA staff and leadership met with the Facilitators of the AGMA Black Caucus, who offered several suggestions as to how AGMA can begin to redress racism and racial disparities union-wide within AGMA, signatory companies, and industries. A demographic census of AGMA’s membership was recommended.
