On this auspicious Labor Day weekend, AGMA honors all of the Union’s members who illuminate our lives with their talents. There are so many ways to be an AGMA member. First and foremost is to work to enliven this industry with your incredible artistry. We are a union of Artists who have come together to fight for one another and to raise our voices in unison so that we can achieve sustainable careers in the performing arts. Staging Staff Caucus Announces “Addressing the Pipeline: The Next Generation of Staging Staff”

Register Today! The Staging Staff Caucus invites all AGMA Staging Staff members to its next meeting on Monday, September 11, at 9:00 p.m. ET for an in-depth discussion on the staging staff pipeline. Industry experts, including Stage Manager Jean Egdorf of The Open Stage Project, will present and discuss "Addressing the Pipeline: The Next Generation of Staging Staff" to AGMA Staging Staff members. AGMA members with connections to training programs will share their successes and guidance on how other institutions can create similar programs and insight on how to better support and uplift professionals from underrepresented groups. AGMA members in the New York and surrounding areas are invited to walk with AGMA leadership, staff, and fellow members in the 2023 NYC Labor Day Parade on Saturday, September 9! The parade kicks off at 10:00 a.m. ET at Fifth Avenue & 44th Street. RSVP by September 7 so AGMA can plan for your arrival and make sure we have enough AGMA buttons to go around. AGMA's meeting location is East 44th Street between Madison Avenue and Vanderbilt Avenue. Please arrive around 9:15 a.m. ET to get organized. AGMA Ratifies 4-Year Agreement with Los Angeles Master Chorale

The new collective bargaining agreement between AGMA and Los Angeles Master Chorale was approved by AGMA leadership last month, after being overwhelmingly ratified by the shop. Thank you to the negotiating committee, and congratulations on this 4-year agreement! In cities across the country, the labor movement is coming together on Tuesday, August 22, for a National Day of Solidarity. The AFL-CIO has organized an amazing opportunity for AGMA members and our sibling unions to mobilize and stand in solidarity with SAG-AFTRA and the Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE), and the Writers Guild of America West (WGAW) across five major cities, simultaneously. Artists of the Philadelphia Symphonic Choir Join AGMA

8/10/2023 – The American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA) is pleased to announce that the Artists of the Philadelphia Symphonic Choir have voted overwhelmingly in favor of unionizing with AGMA. Support Starbucks Workers United: Adopt a Store

On August 7, Starbucks Workers United wants supporters to “adopt” a non-union Starbucks store to support workers in their organizing efforts. According to their website, "adopting" a store simply means holding a small flyering action to engage customers and passersby in the campaign through in-person connections. "August 7 is just the first of a series of national days of action to activate customers and allies to hold Starbucks accountable and demand the company lives up to its progressive values.
