The new collective bargaining agreement between AGMA and Musica Sacra was approved by AGMA leadership, after being overwhelmingly ratified by the shop. The AGMA Black Caucus (ABC) will host their second National Meeting of 2023 on Tuesday, June 27, at 6:00 p.m. ET (3:00 p.m. PT). All Black AGMA Artists are encouraged to participate! Public Meeting Announced by Staging Staff Caucus

The AGMA Staging Staff Caucus will host its first PUBLIC meeting Monday, July 10, at 9:00 p.m. ET. For those who might not know, the AGMA Staging Staff Caucus is made up of AGMA Directors, Choreographers, Stage Managers, and all their Associates and Assistants, so this event is open to both AGMA members and non-members who work in those Staging Staff roles across the dance and opera/concert industries. The evening will feature an “Ask Us Anything” panel made up of AGMA Directors, Choreographers, and Stage Managers. Today is Juneteenth

Today is Juneteenth, the day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. The tragic reality was it took more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation for the last enslaved people to be freed - in Galveston, Texas, on June 19, 1865. Juneteenth is a day for reflection. At AGMA, we thank the leadership, energy, and vision of our Black members, who have led the way as our union has worked to confront systemic racism in our industries. We also acknowledge the work yet to be done and recommit ourselves to finding and implementing ways in which AGMA Artists can use their collective power to unlearn and dismantle racism inside our industries. “Intro to AGMA” Orientation and Informational Webinar on June 28

AGMA will again host “An Intro to AGMA," a live new-member orientation and informational webinar, on Wednesday, June 28. AGMA Members are welcome to join the webinar at 10:00 a.m. ET or 9:00 p.m. ET on June 28. The webinars will be the same, so members should select whatever time works best with their schedule. The estimated running time of the webinar is 30-45 minutes. “An Intro to AGMA” will cover everything from the history of AGMA and its structure, to the basics of joining AGMA, to why workers form unions and how they create collective power.
