AGMA Ratifies 3-Year Agreement with Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre

The new collective bargaining agreement between AGMA and Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre was approved by AGMA leadership, after being overwhelmingly ratified by the shop.

CONTRACT HIGHLIGHTS

COMPENSATION AND OTHER BENEFITS:

  • Wage increases over 3-year term: 3% - 4% - 3%
  • Increases in seniority pay
  • Increased delegate fee from $45 to $60
  • Increased short-term disability from 45% to 60% of weekly rate
  • $100 social media takeover for each takeover
  • New streaming provisions including normal waiver protections, including negotiated fees, 30 days advance notice, revenue sharing where appropriate, Artist and AGMA credit, limits on public availability
  • Parking subsidy converted to transportation subsidy
  • Marketing, educational, community engagement, on-site donor events, or PBT Committee work must be during working hours.  Requests to participate 48 hours in advance

DIVERSITY, EQUITY, INCLUSION (DEI) AND SAFETY:

  • Gender neutral pronouns
  • New anti-discrimination and harassment policy, training, complaint and investigation procedures
  • Comprehensive new provisions aligning CBA to PBT's stated diversity and inclusion goals, including training, recruitment, selection, casting, retention, mentorship, advancement and accessibility for traditionally excluded Artists
  • Reverse Weingarten rights for complaints of discrimination
  • Stagers and visiting choreographers held to new standards
  • Cultural sensitivity regarding hair and make-up
  • Commitment to prepare Artists for success
  • Diversity and inclusion for gender neutral, gender non-conforming, non-binary, and gender variant Artists

SUPPORT FOR WORKING FAMILIES

  • All artists to receive 15 days paid family leave, in addition to 21 days of sick leave, and unpaid leave
  • Birthing parent also receives fully paid alternative work opportunities prior to birth, and 20 weeks of short-term disability pay (now at 60% of pay rather than 45%)
  • Lactation room and longer breaks for nursing parents
