For first-time members or those thinking of joining, this new resource page will jumpstart their AGMA experience. For current and even longtime members, the important information compiled here will come in handy as well. OPERA America Announces Mental Health Webinar Series

AGMA Artists are encouraged to join OPERA America for a webinar series dedicated to the mental health of opera professionals. This five-part series is free and open to all; no registration required. The series kicks off on June 24 with “Mental Health Care for Creators and Artists.” Each 45-minute session with licensed mental health professionals dives into a specific topic related to the unique mental health challenges experienced by those working in opera. AGMA has created a Newsletter Archive. In the archive, AGMA members can find the latest monthly newsletter that goes to AGMA members in good standing and all the newsletters of previous months. To access the archive, members should log into their MyAGMA account. AGMA’s Juneteenth Message

Tomorrow is Juneteenth. The Declaration of Independence was signed in 1776, yet slavery still existed in America for another 87 years. Even after President Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation, it took two more years for the last people to be freed - in Galveston, TX. on June 19, 1865.  Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States.  There is a parade of performative progress happening, both within the Performing Arts and our government. We need tangible action from our nation's leadership in the form of bills, and real change particularly in the arena of education surrounding the true history of systemic racism in our country. AGMA Ratifies Contract with Chautauqua Opera

AGMA Ratifies Contract with the Metropolitan Opera

6/8/2021 – The AGMA Board of Governors has ratified a new collective bargaining agreement with the Metropolitan Opera. “Considering what the Met was originally publicly seeking in concessions, which was around 30%, this comprehensive agreement is the best resolution for all our members,” said Len Egert, National Executive Director of AGMA, and the co-lead negotiator of the Met/AGMA contract. “It was a balancing act, a give and take, but we continued to push the interests and needs of our Artists to the forefront of every conversation. We ensured that AGMA members who make their livelihood at the Met can continue to do so and that the Met as an institution can continue to attract and retain the best Artists in the world.” Th...
