Needed:
1 Solo Man + 1 Cover*
1 Cover Corps Man*
1 Corps Woman + 1 Cover*
Anticipated Contract Dates:
8 Contract Weeks + 2 Days Pro-Rata
September 25 - November 21, 2023
*Due to the specific geographic settings and racial themes of the show, seeking dancers that identify as ethnically black.
Dancers should have training or expertise in Ballet, and/or one or many diasporic styles, including, but not limited to: West African Dances, Hip Hop, Wacking, Krump, Flex, House, Vogue, Jazz, Swing, Lindy Hop, Samba, and other Social Dances.
Resident Corps
San Francisco Opera maintains a Resident Corps to fill tenure positions as they become available. This is an important element to the process of selecting dancers during all Dance Corps auditions.

Audition Day Schedule
Times will be assigned - COVID-19 Testing (starting 10:30am)
11:00 -12:00pm - Studio available for Individual Warmup
12:00 - 1:15 pm - Mandatory Audition Warm-up for AGMA Member Dancers *
1:30 - 2:45 pm - Mandatory Audition Warm-up for Non-AGMA Dancers
3:00 - 4:00 pm - CALLBACKS **
4:00 - 5:00 pm - Wardrobe Measurements, as needed
Note: Audition Warm-up/Class will be given in 12pm & 1:30pm sessions; Callbacks will include new material
Production Director, Choreographer, and/or Assistants may be present at audition

*Only those with evidence of current AGMA membership will be permitted to participate in the AGMA audition
Further contract details will be posted at the audition, as available
Employment is conditional upon provision of timely and satisfactory evidence of legal ability to work in the USA

COMPENSATION
Contract Year 2023 Corps Dancer rate is $1,486.15 per week.
Travel and Housing Stipends may be available dependent on a Corps Dancer's city of residence.
Contract Year 2023 Solo Dancer rate is $2,504.14 per week / Solo Cover Dancer rate is $1,995.13 per week.
COVID-19 DANCE AUDITION PROTOCOLS
Verification of photo identification will be required upon check-in.
Masking may be required during some or all of the audition session.
Approved COVID-19 testing is required.
