Washington National Opera announces Dance Auditions for its 2022-2023 production of Elektra.
DANCE AUDITIONS: BY APPOINTMENT ONLY

To audition, you must show proof of up-to-date COVID-19 vaccinations and proof of either a negative PCR test result within 72 hours of your audition appointment time OR an FDA Approved Antigen Test taken the day of the audition.

5 Female Corps Dancers needed.

Dancers should have a strong modern, contemporary, and ballet background (dance improvisation is a plus). We are looking for strong, bold, and fearless dancers with a theatrical flare. Some partnering/lifts may be involved.

Please bring ballet slippers and knee pads. Be prepared to dance with ballet slippers and/or barefoot. Wear comfortable, form-fitting clothing that shows the dance line.

Rehearsals begin on or about October 3, 2022.
Technical rehearsals begin October 21, 2022.*
Performance dates are October 29, 31, November 4, 6m, 9, 12, 2022.
*Piano Tech #1 is currently scheduled for the afternoon of Friday, October 21.

Rehearsals will take place at the Washington National Opera Studio in Takoma.

Dancers should report to the Washington National Opera Studio, 6925 Willow St. NW, Washington, DC 20012.
To reach the Washington National Opera Studio, go to the 3rd floor of the building; directions will be posted.

Dancers must arrive by the appropriate Registration time listed above, i.e. at least one hour prior to the scheduled Audition time, in order to complete the application process.*
