AGMA kicked off its 2023 National Officer and Governor Election on February 1. The deadline is fast for members who want to shape AGMA’s future and run for office! DEADLINE REMINDER: Completed and signed CANDIDATE MATERIALS FORMS AND completed and signed NOMINATING PETITION FORMS must be received by the AGMA National Office no later than 5:00 p.m. ET on March 1, 2023. The AGMA Black Caucus (ABC) invites all AGMA members and non-AGMA Artists in the performing arts who identify as Black to attend their first meeting of 2023 on Wednesday, February 22, at 7:00 p.m. ET / 4:00 p.m. PT. The meeting will be held over Zoom. Registration is required in order to receive the Zoom details. Register here. In an effort to share hiring opportunities in a broader range of outlets to increase the number of applicants often underrepresented in AGMA-represented positions and roles, AGMA has recently published this Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (I.D.E.A.) This year’s Black History Month arrives just one month after the fatal police beating of Tyre Nichols. Our hearts remain heavy, as we witnessed the violence inherent in our very broken system result in yet another senseless death of a Black person who should be alive today.  AGMA once again calls on elected leaders at all levels of government to come together, like our members, to address the systemic and institutionalized origins of these tragedies, and enact meaningful policies to end them and begin the healing process.  This month we will focus on JOY.
