Oregon Ballet Theatre Artists Vote to Join AGMA

Portland, OR (September 19, 2017) The American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA) was officially recognized as the union representing the dancers and stage managers of the Oregon Ballet Theatre.  This recognition comes after a majority of these artists signed a petition requesting AGMA to represent them.  The Oregon Ballet Theatre (OBT) agreed to a voluntary procedure to confirm majority support which was completed last week. “We are privileged to represent the interests of all the wonderful dancers and staging staff at OBT.  AGMA welcomes this group to our family of professional artists who strive each day to reach artistic heights and their professional goals.  Oregon Ballet Theatre, as the largest ballet company in the state, deser... The Actors Fund is offering numerous workshops, groups and seminars this fall for our members. Those in Southern California, or the greater Los Angeles area, should check out their offerings below and on the Actors Fund website for a full list of events. Encore Seniors Group Monthly Support group for entertainment industry career veterans, age 65 and older, who are coping with issues of aging, loss and transition, and who find remembrance of the past, along with hope for the future, as part of a like-minded group of older adults. Dancers Network Event – Dallas, TX

Texas/Oklahoma Area members within distance of Dallas, we will be part of an upcoming event with the Dance Council of North Texas and Collin College on Sunday, October 8, 2017 from 1:00pm - 5:00pm at the Collin College Preston Ridge Campus. This event, called the Dancers Network, (DN) is a FREE one day event where members of the dance community can meet to network with future dancers, educators and arts organizations; its mission is to provide opportunities for dancers to further their careers. Union Plus Offers Help for Those Impacted by Hurricane Harvey

If you are an AGMA member who participates in certain Union Plus programs and have been affected by Hurricane Harvey in Texas, you may be eligible for financial assistance through the Union Plus Disaster Relief Grant program1.
