‼️DATE CHANGE‼️ The AGMA Dancers Caucus Meeting has been rescheduled. The Caucus will now meet on Tuesday, August 3 at 8:00 p.m. ET. Previously scheduled for July 20, Dancers who have already registered for the meeting do not need to register again and will be receiving a note from the staff facilitator. OPERA America Webinar to Focus on Pandemic Trauma

As part of its free webinar series "Mental Health for Creators and Artists,” OPERA America will host the timely "Processing the Trauma of COVID-19" on July 22 at 5:00 p.m. ET. The description of the webinar is as follows: The world has experienced over one year of living in a pandemic, and society’s leaders continue to encourage steadfastness in the face of the ongoing crisis, urging the public to take safety precautions to prevent the spread of disease. AGMA’s Juneteenth Message

Tomorrow is Juneteenth. The Declaration of Independence was signed in 1776, yet slavery still existed in America for another 87 years. Even after President Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation, it took two more years for the last people to be freed - in Galveston, TX. on June 19, 1865.  Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States.  There is a parade of performative progress happening, both within the Performing Arts and our government. We need tangible action from our nation's leadership in the form of bills, and real change particularly in the arena of education surrounding the true history of systemic racism in our country.
