Upcoming Actors Fund Events in LA

The Actors Fund is offering numerous workshops, groups and seminars this fall for our members. Those in Southern California, or the greater Los Angeles area, should check out their offerings below and on the Actors Fund website for a full list of events. Encore Seniors Group Monthly Support group for entertainment industry career veterans, age 65 and older, who are coping with issues of aging, loss and transition, and who find remembrance of the past, along with hope for the future, as part of a like-minded group of older adults. Dancers Network Event – Dallas, TX

Texas/Oklahoma Area members within distance of Dallas, we will be part of an upcoming event with the Dance Council of North Texas and Collin College on Sunday, October 8, 2017 from 1:00pm - 5:00pm at the Collin College Preston Ridge Campus. This event, called the Dancers Network, (DN) is a FREE one day event where members of the dance community can meet to network with future dancers, educators and arts organizations; its mission is to provide opportunities for dancers to further their careers. Union Plus Offers Help for Those Impacted by Hurricane Harvey

If you are an AGMA member who participates in certain Union Plus programs and have been affected by Hurricane Harvey in Texas, you may be eligible for financial assistance through the Union Plus Disaster Relief Grant program1. Funding Approved for NEA, NEH, & CPB

The full U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Appropriations has approved the funding necessary for the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) to continue functioning in the coming fiscal year. This comes after the House Appropriations subcommittees responsible for NEA, NEH, and CPB funding approved the same funding levels during markups last week. On Tuesday evening, the full House Appropriations Committee met and approved $145 million in FY 2018 funding for the NEA and NEH each with the passage of the Interior and Environment Appropriations bill.
