From June 24through June 27, 2019, AGMA’s Leadership convened its annual conference in New York City.  Approximately 17 AGMA Officers, Areas Chairs, Committee Chairs and representatives from around the country met to discuss and review various topics, goals and objectives.  Throughout the conference, AGMA staff presented updates regarding on-going projects and new initiatives.  The leadership group revised and refined a priorities list that had been generated during a previous conference.

Among the topics analyzed were the following:

  • Membership: an overview of policies and procedures
  • Health and Retirement Funds: an update from Executive Director Derek Davis
  • Public Relations: a presentation by Christine Dusek of 10K Partners including methods of improving communications within and outside the membership community
  • Organizing and Outreach: a presentation by Griff Braun, Director of Organizing and Outreach, of new initiatives for member engagement including New Member orientations and Delegate training.

A comprehensive Sexual Harassment Prevention Training session was held in person and via video conference by AGMA’s outside counsel, Susan Davis. A version of this training, which was extended to delegates and members of the Board of Governors, will be made available online in the future to all AGMA members.

President Ray Menard and National Executive Director Len Egert wish to extend their thanks to all of the Leadership and Staff who contribute to improving AGMA’s services to its membership.
