AGMA Ratifies 3-Year Agreement with BalletMet

The new collective bargaining agreement between AGMA and BalletMet was ratified by AGMA leadership, after being overwhelmingly approved by the shop.

There have been multiple additions and enhancements to the contract language, including improvements under compensation and benefits and new anti-harassment and anti-discrimination language.

CONTRACT HIGHLIGHTS

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

  • Annual wage increases: 4%, 3%, 3%
  • Expanded seniority payments
  • Increased parking stipend
  • Increase in per diem
  • Paid bereavement leave and paid family leave for non-birthing parents

DIVERSITY, EQUITY, INCLUSION and SAFETY:

  • BalletMet will engage an intimacy director for intimate scenes
  • Workplace protections will include gender identity/expression, and the CBA will include gender-neutral language  
  • BalletMet will dye flesh-toned ribbon, elastic, and other items in colors appropriate for Artists’ skin tone
  • Mandatory annual anti-racism and anti-harassment training and union representation at all steps of harassment/discrimination investigations
  • Guaranteed Artist representation on BalletMet's Anti-Racism and Equity Coalition
  • Commitment to the elimination of racial stereotypes on stage
