AGMA Ratifies 5-Year Agreement with Ballet Hispánico

The new collective bargaining agreement between AGMA and Ballet Hispánico was approved by AGMA leadership, after being overwhelmingly ratified by the shop.

CONTRACT HIGHLIGHTS

COMPENSATION AND OTHER BENEFITS:

  • Compensation:
    • 10% increase in Year 1 for senior level dancers, with 2% - 5% increases for other levels
    • Increases of 3% (Y2), 2.5% (Y3), 3% (Y4), 3.5% (Y5) for all levels
    • Historic increases in other wages including Delegate Fee, Extraordinary Risk, Artistic Emergency Rehearsal, Free Day, Overtime rate, Penalty rate
    • Significant increases to meal money
    • The addition of a new bi-annual bonus structure
  • Addition of 1% matching retirement contributions by employer
  • Access to BH dental and vision insurance similar to non-dancer employees
  • Eliminated uncompensated costume fittings
  • Guaranteed blackout dates for two weeks each year
  • Additional personal day option for all Artists
  • Limitations on long tech days
  • Expanded anti-discrimination protections

TOURING:

  • Improvements to touring language, including language surrounding improved accommodations, warm-up spaces and floors
  • 1-hour additional paid call time for flights
  • Local AGMA committee will discuss touring items such as the provision of car services, food deliveries, etc. as necessary to ensure Artist safety
