The news of the unexpected passing of AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka has stunned and saddened everyone at the American Guild of Musical Artists.

As the leader of the AFL-CIO, Trumka was the nation’s clearest voice on the critical need to ensure that all workers have power and dignity in their workplaces. At the center of his mission, was his heart and compassion.

President Trumka was always kind to, and supportive of, AGMA and its members--most notably when AGMA received its own AFL-CIO charter recently.

His advocacy and zeal for real, positive change in our world will be missed, and not forgotten. We already feel the void left in his absence. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and colleagues during this deeply sad, shocking, and difficult time.
