REMINDER! The Staging Staff Caucus invites all AGMA Staging Staff members to its next meeting on Monday, September 11, at 9:00 p.m. ET for an in-depth discussion on the staging staff pipeline.
Industry experts, including Stage Manager Jean Egdorf of The Open Stage Project, will present and discuss "Addressing the Pipeline: The Next Generation of Staging Staff" to AGMA Staging Staff members. AGMA members with connections to training programs will share their successes and guidance on how other institutions can create similar programs and insight on how to better support and uplift professionals from underrepresented groups.
This presentation and discussion will not be recorded, so attendance is encouraged. Held over Zoom, any AGMA Staging Staff members that are interested in attending should register for the virtual event here. The Staging Staff Caucus looks forward to a lively discussion about the future of the profession!
About Jean Egdorf
Jean Egdorf (She/Her/Hers) is a stage manager and member of Actors’ Equity Association and holds her MFA in Playwriting from Ohio University. She has 15 years of experience in new work development as a stage manager, dramaturg, writer, and educator. As an educator, she has developed curriculum for and taught stage management and has crafted and led extracurricular programs for middle and high school students to write and produce their own original plays. She currently serves as the full-time Director of Programming for Open Stage Project, an NYC non-profit closing the gender gap in behind-the-scenes careers by introducing high school girls and non-binary students to jobs in theater, TV, and film.
