Important Referendum and Area Committee Elections Update

Published December 8, 2021   |  By Musical Artists  |  Post in All Areas

AGMA is in the process of conducting Area Committee elections across every geographic Area of the Union. The self-nomination period closed on November 30, and there were contested races for certain seats in the New York and Southern California areas. Today, the New York and Southern California Area members in good standing received emails containing more information on their elections as well as a ballot. **The deadline to submit the ballot is December 15 by 6:00 p.m. ET.**

The seven other AGMA Areas had no contested races for seats on those Area Committees. As a result, those who self-nominated within those seven areas have been automatically elected to the Area Committee without the need for a vote! Members in good standing of the Mid & South Atlantic, Midwest, New England, Northwest, Pennsylvania, San Francisco, and Southern Central Areas received emails with their election results.

Also included in these Area Election emails was a non-binding referendum vote to understand whether the majority of AGMA's membership wants AGMA to make political endorsements in future elections that might have a significant impact on workers, unions, artists, or the arts.

AGMA members in good standing who did NOT receive the latest area election email today (which also includes the referendum) check spam or your “promotions” tab in Gmail, or please email elections@membership.org.
