Statement from AGMA President Ray Menard We at AGMA do not seek to divide, but to uphold safe, fair, and equitable rights for all – and that includes safe access to healthcare, the protection of bodily autonomy, and the preservation of a person’s right to choose.

I am appalled by the news that the Supreme Court is poised to overturn Roe v. Wade and end constitutional protections for abortion.

Unions have always known that comprehensive healthcare is a fundamental right, and this decision will make it harder for people to make their own choices and chart their own destinies. This will make abortion inaccessible and often illegal to obtain for individuals across the country. The ability of pregnant people to make the best decision for themselves is inextricably linked to the project of economic justice that AGMA and those throughout the labor movement fight to uphold.

We at AGMA do not seek to divide, but to uphold safe, fair, and equitable rights for all – and that includes safe access to healthcare, the protection of bodily autonomy, and the preservation of a person’s right to choose.
